Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline supports children affected by the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster which took place in April 1986.

Belarus, where most of the CCLL charity work is focused, received over 70% of the radioactive fallout from the Chernobyl nuclear explosion and as a result, thousands are born every year with, or go on to develop thyroid cancer, bone cancer and leukaemia.

For four weeks over the summer, the charity arranges for children to stay with host families around the Yeovil area with the aim to improve their overall health, participate in group activities and fun days out as well as visits to the optician and dentist!

Claremont Fan Court School was pleased to offer the charity the use of a School minibus during their visit to England, and hope that the children enjoy and benefit from their recuperative stay.
