Mr William Brierly has been appointed to succeed Mr Jonathan Insall-Reid as Head of Senior School with effect from 1st September 2018.

Mr Brierly is Senior Deputy Head at King’s College School, Wimbledon, and we are confident that he will continue to develop Claremont Fan Court in line with the School’s mission and values. We were impressed by his understanding of our School and commitment to maintain our strengths whilst recognising the opportunities to develop further.

After graduating from Southampton University with a degree in economics and politics, Mr Brierly spent two years as a graduate trainee in the retail sector before starting his teaching career at Whitgift School in Croydon. He joined King’s in 2007 and has since held leadership roles as Head of Department, Head of Sixth Form and Deputy Head (Academic) before becoming Senior Deputy Head. As Head of Sixth Form, he led the introduction of girls at King’s. He is also a trained ISI inspector. Mr Brierly and his wife Clare have four children. He has been a local councillor and a governor at several schools. In his spare time, he enjoys running and has completed six marathons.

Mr Brierly will take up his position in September 2018 and will work with Governors and senior staff through the summer. We are confident he will be an excellent head and we very much look forward to welcoming him, and Clare, to Claremont Fan Court.
