In September 2019 Claremont Fan Court School launched a new community partnership project for all our lower sixth students.
The aims of the project are to enable students to:
  • Make a positive difference to other people’s lives
  • Become more involved in the world outside school
  • Gain greater awareness of issues facing other communities
  • Reinforce their subject knowledge
  • Build upon communication and team-working skills
  • Learn new skills and gain work experience
  • Become well-rounded and empathetic individuals
The project also allows students to participate in the vInspired volunteering award scheme, a nationally recognised, UCAS endorsed award for 10, 50 or 100 hours of flexible volunteering. Over the past few weeks, our Year 12 students have been embarking on their community partnership placements volunteering for one afternoon each week in a variety of organisations, such as community centres, charities, primary schools and care homes.

Organisations our students have been volunteering at include:

  • QEF & MERU
  • BUPA Wingham Court
  • Elmbridge Rentstart
  • Claygate Primary School
  • St Paul’s Catholic Primary
  • Brooklands Museum
  • Whitely Village
  • St Andrew’s Primary School, Cobham
  • Cobham Centre for the Community
  • Rose Theatre, Kingston
  • Christ Church CE Primary
